Not to be confused with the current Celtic band of the same name, "The Rogues" was a 1960s Houston-based rock band that enjoyed tremendous popularity in the Texas Gulf Coast area. The group was the first in the Houston area to play "British Invasion" inspired music. They were so associated with the genre that they were billed as "The American Band with the British Sound."

As music trends evolved later in the decade, the band changed its name to "Independence Hall," the group's repetoire began evolving into a harder, blues-inspired playlist.

The Rogues/ Independence Hall appeared with some of major rock and blues acts of the 1960s including Lightnin' Hopkins, The Righteous Brothers, B.J. Thomas, Roy Head and others. The band's last gig was sharing house band duties at Houston's infamous after-hours club, The Cellar.

The group released three singles between 1965 and 1967. "Don't You Wish You Were Mine" was the "A" side of the second single, which was released in 1966. Two sides were cut for a fourth record, but the group disbanded and they were never released.
