Bangladesh Islamist party chief death sentence upheld

Bangladesh’s Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence against the country’s largest Islamist party chief and key ally of the opposition for alleged crimes committed during Bangladesh’s 1971 war of independence from Pakistan.
