New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): The full dress rehearsal for the Beating Retreat ceremony held at Vijay Chowk in Delhi on Thursday. As many as 15 Military Bands, 18 Pipes and Drums Bands from Regimental Centres and Battalions participated in the Beating Retreat ceremony. Besides, one band each of the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force will be participating in the event. ‘Beating Retreat’ marks centuries old military tradition, when the troops ceased fighting, sheathed their arms, withdrew from the battlefield and returned to their camps at sunset at the sounding of the retreat.
