In the fourth installment of this series, J.R. Church and Gary Stearman propose that, based on scripture, in order for prophesied events to be fulfilled in a reasonable way, a considerable time gap between the rapture and the Tribulation is necessary. Malachi says that Elijah will come during this period after the rapture, or departure, of the church off of the face of the earth, but before the Day of the Lord-also known as the Tribulation period. Joel states that there will be geophysical upheavals in the same period.
