Part 2 - Trophy Race - Paul Ricard Circuit

Game Settings - All Driving Assists Set To Max (ABS, TC & SC) Racing Line On.
Damage On.
Difficulty Level Beginner.
Vehicle Ferrari 348 TB with standard default set up (for Trophy races there is no pit area for car setup).

(Note - Damage model in this game is pretty irrelevant as it is only visual and has no effect on a car's performance whatsoever, much like GT5 but at least you can beat your car up if that's your thing).

After winning round 1 (see https://youtu.be/7BjYSZU8hXY ) we start at the front of the grid in the next Trophy race.

Once again you will see how relatively easy it is for me to pull away from the field, even with some poor driving techniques and several unforced errors.

I have run this same race on Intermediate and Hard difficulty levels and the difference truly is night and day. Aside from one AI driver who eventually passed me and went on to win the race, the rest of the field lagged far behind pretty much throughout.

This demonstrates once again that most reasonably competent players will not find the game very challenging on the easiest settings, despite some of the complaints published online.

Whilst it is still enjoyable to drive a Ferrari around the track, the racing aspect is what is missing with these settings, along with the "edge of your seat" tension when racing at higher difficulties. Losing control is far less likely and every bump in the track surface is not as accurately fed through to you with imminent warnings that you are driving on the edge of grip and performance. The game physics just feel so very different and for me, the excitement of racing is lost as I drive around occasionally passing a mobile chicane in the form of the AI racers.

I would have to say that on these settings the game feels a lot more like GT5, for example, and "feel" is drastically diminished.

Perhaps this is a good thing for people new to the title or driving/racing games in general but in my opinion, the sooner you move on to a higher difficulty and dial down the physical assists somewhat, you will not be getting the full impact and enjoyment of the game and may, like many others, lose interest far more quickly.
