Hey, welcome back to moviequips highlights. I'm Stephen Bourne and here are your new movie highlights for April 8th to the 14th:

First up, THE BOSS is a comedic drama directed and co-written by Ben Falcone, starring Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Bell. McCarthy plays a brash business tycoon who ends up finding new ways to rebuild her lost fortune after a stint in prison makes her a penniless pariah. The Boss screens at all Cineplex Cinemas and Landmark Cinemas here in Ottawa.

CHONGQING HOT POT is a Chinese crime comedy from writer-director Yang Qing starring Chen Kun as an unlikely thief. The ad-hoc renovation plans of three hard up restaurant partners are complicated when they mistakenly breach the bank vault next door. Chongqing Hot Pot screens here with English subtitles at Rainbow Cinemas Ottawa.

DEMOLITION is an American drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts, directed by Canadian filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée. Lost in a fog of grief, an executive's irrational behaviour leads to his unorthodox yet liberating reconstruction. Demolition was an award-winner at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival and debuts here at Landmark Cinemas Kanata and at Cineplex SilverCity Gloucester.

Next up, HARDCORE HENRY is a GoPro-shot first-person action-adventure from debuting feature writer-director Ilya Naishuller. When his wife is held hostage in Russia, a rogue cyborg launches himself non-stop through a crime lord's deadly gauntlet of soldiers to rescue her. Hardcore Henry screens in Ottawa at both Landmark Cinemas and at most Cineplex Cinemas.

I SAW THE LIGHT is a dramatic biopic from writer-director Marc Abraham, based on music historian Colin Escott's 1994 book, Hank Williams: The Biography. Tom Hiddleston stars as Williams, whose short yet prolific influence on 1950s Country & Western music resonated long after his untimely death at 29. I Saw The Light screens here at Ottawa's ByTowne Cinema.

MIDNIGHT SPECIAL is a sci-fi thriller from acclaimed writer-director Jeff Nichols, starring Michael Shannon and Jaeden Lieberher. A father and his supernaturally gifted son are on the run from a religious cult and the FBI, in a race against time to reach ground zero of an other worldly event. Midnight Special screens here in Ottawa at Cineplex SilverCity Gloucester and at Landmark Cinemas Kanata.

And lastly, TEN THOUSAND SAINTS is a 2015 teen drama from Oscar-nominated filmmaking duo Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld star in this drug-tinged New York tale set in the 1980s and adapted from author Eleanor Henderson's 2011 novel of the same name. Ten Thousand Saints screens here at Ottawa's Mayfair Theatre.
