Racing at Monza in the first challenge season of the game. It may be a 2008 title but Ferrari Challenge is definitely worth buying in 2015. You will find some real bargains online at the link provided above.
This race was only my second in the game and I was pretty happy with my result. In the first race I finished 9th having qualified 13th and the second race grid is decided by your finishing position in the previous race.
As you can see I ran with all assists on including the rather too bright racing line. If you are new to the game you will probably find you need the assists until you get a feel for the very realistic handling and feedback.
Ferrari Challenage has received mixed reviews but if you love driving games it is definitely worth a look. The handling and feedback from the cars in this game is genuinely excellent. Most of the negative comments stem from players who want arcade handling and either can't or won't learn to drive/race properly. This game demands you learn how to do both and can be extremely rewarding as a result. I don't think I have ever had better "feel" from a driving or racing game - this assumes you are playing with a force feedback wheel setup and not a controller. I did do a quick few laps with a pad and it was a completely different game, and it made driving smoothly a little more difficult.
If you do have a wheel, make sure it is compatible with the game as it is quite old now. My old Logitech Driving Force (the original one) works with one slight issue - the select button does not function, meaning I cannot switch camera views. Not a problem as I prefer to play this in cockpit mode, but if you prefer a third person view this might be an issue for you if your wheel gives you the same problem. Some players have complained about the limited wheel adjustments available in the settings, and it is true, there is not nearly as much customization leeway as in many other games but through trial and error you should be able to find something that works for you and your wheel of choice even if it's never quite perfect.
