ndia, Maldives signed six agreements.
On 11 April 2016 India and Maldives singed six agreements to promote the bilateral relations between the two countries.
These agreements were signed during the two-day official visit of Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in New Delhi.
These agreements contain;
• Agreement for Avoidance of Double Taxation of income.
• Agreement for the Exchange of Information with respect to Taxes.
• Bilateral Agreement related to Orbit Frequency Coordination of "South Asia Satellite” proposed at 48oE.
• MoU for Cooperation in the area of conservation and restoration of ancient mosques and joint research and exploratory surveys in Maldives.
• MoU on cooperation in the field of Tourism.
• Action Plan for Defence Cooperation.

Indus Towers is the country's largest telecom tower firm offering infrastructure services to all telecom operators and other wireless services providers.
It is an independently managed company.
On 11 April 2016 Indus Towers appointed Hemant Kumar Ruia as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
10 April observed as World Homoeopathy Day.
World Homoeopathy Day was observed on 10 April 2016. It was organised by India.
The day celebrates the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German Physician.
The day is observed by the international professional body of Homeopaths named as Liga Medicorum Homoeopathica Internationalis (LMHI).
The Homoeopathic fraternity organizes, road shows, medical camps and memorial events to popularize the strength of Homoeopathy.
At present, Homeopathy is practiced in more than 80 countries in different form.
I Support Skill India campaign.
Skill India is an initiative, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 16 July 2015.
In the second week of April 2016 Union Government signed Sachin Tendulkar to endorse the I Support Skill India campaign.
The step is taken to reach out to the youth and build awareness on the importance of skill development.
The initiatives include National Skill Development Mission, National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme and the Skill Loan scheme.
President Pranab Mukherjee conferred Padma Awards 2016.
On 12 April 2016 President Pranab Mukherjee presented the Padma Awards.
These awards were presented at a Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
He granted 5 Padma Vibhushan, 11 Padma Bhushan and 40 Padma Shri awards.
