This is a great hike to do if visiting and/or living in Kauai. It didn't appear to be much of a secret though

This waterfall is known as "Secret Falls" and is at the end of a challenging Kayak ride and hike.
It is not a hard thing to do, but it will require some effort as you do have to Kayak in and then hike a mile or so to the falls.
Again, not the hardest thing I've done but for those less interested in putting in a lot of effort to get somewhere, this might not be for you.
I don't typically Kayak so the arms were feeling on the way in but the view and scenery was magnificent. (and about to fall off on the way out when facing head wind)
Once we got to the turn to find the falls, we found the Kayak parking (can't miss it) and began the 1 mile or so hike to the falls.
The day we went, there was mud from the previous days rain and it began raining on us a little.
The trail is well marked and is moderate difficulty until...
you come to the moving river with orange rope across it.
The river was moving on the day we went and the current was strong but we had walking sticks as well as the rope going across and good shoes.
I for one, LOVE the adventure so I found this exciting even when my shorts were getting wet.
as we continued, we hiked up and down hills and the bank of the river which was not really an issue except for the mud.
You won't likely stay clean if you hike this after rain
there were a couple of small spots to cross streams again but not a big deal.
By the time you make it to the falls, you won't have remembered any difficulty you felt getting there.
This will likely be a busy spot. Local tours take visitors here a couple times a day apparently and there were at least 2 tour companies operating.
Once you get to the falls, you may not feel they are so secret after all as you see large groups of people frolicking in the water.
Not a problem unless you don't like people
This is good swimming spot if you don't mind the water possibly being colder, lots of people, and walking out wet (or figuring out how to change your clothes behind a tree)
All in all, I'd recommend visiting this spot for sure. Im sure I'll find my way back and maybe get in the water next time.
Spent more time eating my lunch and making the chickens fatter.
let me know if you make it out there and what your thoughts are.
ps. Go early and avoid all the neon colors as the tour traffic gets heavy
