Raipur, June 17 (ANI): In a major achievement for government initiated 'Prayas' programme, a number of tribal students from Chhattisgarh have cleared the highly-competitive Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) this year. Despite facing hardships and vulnerable family conditions in various districts of the Naxal-affected state, the rural students made it big. The succeeded candidates hail from families engaged in farming, labour and other minor works. The qualified students' teachers expressed joy on their achievement. Under the programme, meritorious students from Left-Wing Extremism areas were provided accommodation and coaching in the capital city Raipur. The initiative was launched by the state government under chief minister Raman Singh in 2010.
