Indiana Gov. Mike Pence would bring constitutional fidelity, conservative credentials, traditional faith, foreign policy, Washington know-how, and a calm, steady, Midwestern demeanor to a national ticket with Donald Trump, boosting the New York businessman with several types of voters that may prove to be the key to building an electoral coalition that could propel Trump into the White House.

More than 70% of Canadians think Liberals’ new refugee target is too high
More than 70 per cent of Canadians don’t support the federal government taking in more than 25,000 Syrian refugees, according to a new poll from the Angus Reid Institute. Two in five respondents think Canada should stop taking in Syrian refugees immediately.

Obama: ‘We’ are to blame, not Islamic terrorism, for massacre
Omar Mateen called the cops to pledge his fealty to ISIS as he was carrying out his mass murder in Orlando early Sunday. Twelve hours later, the president of the United States declared that “we have no definitive assessment on the motivation” of Omar Mateen but that “we know he was a person filled with hate.”
So I guess the president thinks Mateen didn’t mean it?
Here again, and horribly, we have an unmistakable indication that Obama finds it astonishingly easy to divorce himself from a reality he doesn’t like — the reality of the Islamist terror war against the United States and how it is moving to our shores in the form of lone-wolf attacks.

Loretta Lynch says no idea why he attacked
His motive may never be known? He declared it straightforwardly: “I pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi may Allah protect him, on behalf of the Islamic State,” said Omar Mateen on the night he murdered 49 people and wounded 53. The Islamic State has called for the murders of American civilians during Ramadan.
But of course, this is Loretta Lynch, who initially released a transcript of Mateen’s statement that had him saying: “I pledge allegiance to [omitted] may God protect him [in Arabic], on behalf of [omitted].” So it’s no surprise that she would profess not to know what motivated him — and indeed, profess that his motivation cannot be known.
This insanity in the corridors of power is going to kill many, many more people.

New Canada Child Benefit program payments start today
Starting today, most Canadian families with children under 18 can expect to see a bigger child benefit payment, as money starts flowing in one of the most ambitious social policies to be implemented in Canada in decades.
Take from the rich, give to the poor
The poorest of those families will see the biggest boost while the wealthiest will see their child benefit payment disappear altogether.
Under the old system, families could receive both the Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) and the Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB). The CCTB was tied to income but the UCCB was, as its name implies, universal.
The UCCB provided $160 per child per month for children under six and $60 per month for children aged six to 17. That money was paid out to families regardless of income level.
