If you see build-up in your reservoir or believe you see rust, you need to descale your machine (cleaning the reservoir with a vinegar solution). The Babycook reservoir is made of stainless steel, so it is not possible for it to rust. Instead the build-up is often limescale, which is non-toxic and found naturally in water.
