The lawyer representing “Making a Murderer” subject Steven Avery, who was profiled on Netflix, said DNA evidence in the case will officially be retested. The agreement to start independent scientific testing was filed on Wednesday with the special judge appointed to oversee Avery's appeal. This news comes nearly three months after Avery's lawyer pledged she had a plan to overturn his 2007 conviction. Avery was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder in the 2005 death of photographer Teresa Halbach, 25, in Wisconsin.
