Intel at 10nm ... a conversation with Mark Bohr of Intel

Intel's Process Architecture and Integration team has done what many have said couldn't be done: the first true 10nm in production. They have scaled another node with greater density and performance-per-watt. Most importantly, they did all this with lower cost-per-transistor. In other words Moore’s Law is still alive and well. In this video, Mark Bohr talks about the transistor specifics for their second generation finFET technology. He talks about how 14nm was harder, what’s different about it, covering the path from early architectural development to production device. He also covers how 14nm is enabling fanless PCs in Intel’s new Broadwell generation of microprocessors.
