Phineas and Ferb Games Bear Stormin' Walkthrough

Yeah, allow me to rephrase my whole hiatus -- I'll still be uploading, but all LPs and the RCT walkthrough will be on hold until summer. I'll still upload other things like this from time to time, but don't expect too much.

So, here's Bear Stormin', the awesome yet frustratingly difficult minigame featured in Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon. I walkthrough'd this mainly because for something that should be a really small side game, it's got a lot of depth to it. They clearly put effort into designing many of the higher levels, and were even rather cruel at times. Thankfully, you can save anytime you want to with the S and L keys, so that made walkthroughing this rather easy. I decided it would only be fair if I saved at the beginning of every level though. For this walkthrough I used the Windows port of Moon because I like the GS soundtrack better than the Adlib/OPL3 soundtrack. This was played in DOSBox with Windows 3.1 installed. For extra fun, I added all my deaths in at the end as bloopers.

In this game, you pilot a plane trying to make it to the end of the 47 levels. You are on a limited supply of fuel, and if it depletes, you cannot fly anymore, which makes you vulnerable to ground objects. Balloons help you regain fuel, and from least to most, it's red-yellow-green-blue. It's very important you know this if you want to reach the end since it's commonly what throws people off; for instance, one blue balloon regains you more than two red balloons does. Living things deplete some of your fuel, and solid nonliving things (besides tiny airplanes) will kill you altogether. The flag marks the end of every level, and you will get points for however much fuel you had remaining. 10,000 points nets you an extra life, unless you already have three lives.

As for the walkthrough, this was actually really annoying to make. Levels 41 and 44 gave me the most trouble, especially Level 44 with its stupid flying bowling balls. I lost nearly half of my lives on that level, especially to one bowling ball. There's also levels starting at 14 where you are put under a critical fuel level situation, and you are allowed no error. Most of the time, I was able to make it through without too much trouble, and the levels that gave me issues were usually the ones with cheap deaths like things suddenly flying in front of a balloon. As for how I handled deaths, if I chose not to save-state, the death was left in (but still shown in the bloopers), and if I save-stated around it, then it was not shown and I skipped straight to my good run.

Enjoy the walkthrough! For those who are wondering, I may do Circus Stormin' sometime else, because that game is even WORSE than this one. However, it may not be for a while, because it has 75 levels that get really long towards the end, and I may have to save-state even more to make it through that one (ScummVM is capable of save-stating, thankfully, but I have to do it in one sitting, because it doesn't save the current level you are on).
