Which Power Moves Should You Learn First?
Today, we have a question from one of our YouTube subscribers, which is actually a pretty common question. Take a look:
"Powermove wise, what powermoves do you recommend that is easier to learn first as a beginner??"
What are the easier powers to learn for a beginner? A lot of people have this question.
Personally, I feel that you should start off by learning swipes and windmills. So, swipes and windmills, learn them hand-in-hand. Then after that, flares. So it's going to be swipes, mills, flares.
Everything else comes after once you have a basic understanding of these powermoves.
#1, why do you learn swipes first?
It teaches you how to get your arms straight. When you throw your swipes, it teaches you how to lock your hips. It teaches you to swing your arms.
Windmills:
It teaches you how to swing your legs. It teaches you how to catch back in a freeze. Once you have these two, it's easier to progress and then learn flares.
The main thing I want you to takeaway is:
By actually learning certain moves, you have a basic understanding of the body and then you improve on that, work on it furthermore, make your basic movements stronger. How to lock your arms, how to lock your legs, how to swing your arms, how to swing your legs, where to look, how to spot. This will make you a much better dancer, and make you more efficient in learning more advanced moves.

#AskErin is a series for bboys and bgirls around the world to (well, yeah) ask Erin anything about the dance. Or even about him. We realize it's not that difficult to discuss in a civil manner about anything breaking related. It just takes two hands to clap.
For him to answer... AND
For you to ask.
