Check if your drinking pus and blood with your milk. The milk can be from a Mastitis infected cow
INSPECTION OF MAMMARY GLANDS FOR MASTITIS IN COWS
Inspect mammary glands from a close distance
Observe for any disproportionate size like
• Inflammatory swelling
• Atrophy
• Hypertrophy
Observe for presence of any wound/ discoloration (Gangrene)
EXAMINATION THE UDDER AND ITS SECRETION
• Evaluate for the symmetry and consistency
• Enlargement may be due to Udder edema, inflammations, rupture of suspensary ligament and tumor.
• Atropphy of mammary gland is observed in chronic mastitis
• Assess the skin temperature of udder
* Warm in Acute Mastitis
* Cold in Chronic Mastitis
EXAMINATION SKIN OF UDDER AND TEATS FOR VESICULAR OR EROSIVE LESION AND PYODERMA.
