Montpellier took a step closer to Ligue 1 safety after a 2-0 win over Lorient on Saturday. Ryad Boudebouz gave Montpellier the lead in the 9th minute with a superb strike from the edge of the box. The Belgian youngster Isaac Mbenza then sealed the victory after a delightful assist from Steve Mounie before half time. The win means Montpellier move to 12th in Ligue1, eight points from the relegation zone, while Lorient remain in trouble in 18th.
