Launching a major offensive against the BJP government, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has assured fishermen and rubber and cardamom growers that his party will take up their issues at the national level. Modi government's decision to extend the trawling ban from 45 days to 61 days had earlier come under severe criticism by the fishermen community.
