The Facebook-owned messenger WhatsApp is up and running again after a worldwide outage that lasted several hours. “Earlier today, WhatsApp users in all parts of the world were unable to access WhatsApp for a few hours. We have now fixed the issue and apologize for the inconvenience," WhatsApp statement. Users were unable to access or send out new messages, according to complaints. It's still unknown what caused the blackout. Facebook bought the messaging service three years ago for $22 billion.
