The Indian Supreme court had questioned the Government on why All India Radio (AIR) news should be forced on private radio stations and why they could not air contents of newspapers and TV channels as they were already being regulated by the Centre.
Govt. continues to restrict news on radio by restricting FM radio to broadcast only AIR bulletins, while no such restrictions are placed on print, TV or digital media.
