“Our police officers are leaving no stone unturned as far as trying to put all the pieces together.”
Ms. Jenkins’s mother, Tereasa Martin, said in public appearances
that the police took too long to investigate after the family alerted them to the teenager’s disappearance early on Saturday morning.
The police formally recognized Ms. Jenkins as a missing person shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday,
and her body was found in the freezer around midnight, according to a statement from the Rosemont Public Safety Department released on Sunday.
The police have said that the woman, Kenneka Jenkins, 19, attended a party at the Crowne Plaza
Hotel in the Village of Rosemont, Ill., just northwest of Chicago, on Friday night.
