Ron and Trina, the proprietors of the Double R Guest Ranch are the most wonderful people you will meet in Arizona!
This day trip is a fantastic family adventure! The horses are impeccably well mannered and trust worthy - a child as young as 6 can ride "on their own" while under the watchful eyes of Ron and Trina. For the experienced rider, we're never disappointed!
On July 8th, 2017, my husband and I went horseback riding for the first time together at the Double R. Ron and Trina treated my husband, who'd never ridden before as though he was an old friend and gave him the riding primers necessary for him to enjoy his first ride. At no time did they make him feel self conscious, in fact, he felt very confident before we even began.
During our ride, Ron and Trina explained the area in wonderfully interesting detail. We were regaled with the tales of the horses and even their two dogs who traveled with us the whole time. Ruger stays on the outer area while Lucy stayed with us - both making sure we weren't sharing the area with any other critters.
There is a longer day ride we will be taking as the weather permits. We're looking forward to hearing about the people and history of the Dragoon Mountain.
