5 - North Carolina\r
As Greenville, North Carolina was dealing with clown sightings in their town, clown sightings started showing up in other North Carolina towns as well. Specifically in Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Collectively the clown sightings came to be known as the “Tar Heel” sightings, named after the state mascot. As the sightings spread, people started taking matters into their own hands. One clown appeared from the woods, and was subsequently chased back into them by a witness armed with a machete. That encounter led the police to encourage residents to avoid dressing up as clowns as fun, for fear someone might get seriously injured. \r

4 - Vigilante Groups Respond To Evil Clown Pranksters Throughout France\r
In late new a wave of clown sightings occurred throughout France. Reports stated that many of the clowns were armed with all manner of weapons, including knives, baseball bats, and pistols. One woman reported being attacked with a fake axe. Others reported being robbed. The residents were rightly concerned for their safety. And in addition to alerting the police to the matter, neighborhood vigilante groups also formed to combat the problem. The police made several arrests, including one 19 year old clown who was found guilty of threatening members of the public. However he only received a 6 month suspended jail sentence.\r

3 - Clown Issues Online Threat To Abduct Children From Schools In Georgia\r
In 2016, residents of LaGrange, Georgia were alarmed by police reports of clowns trying to talk to children. One online threat underscored this notion as one of the clowns threated to abduct children from schools. The threat was first discovered on Facebook, where citizen journalists noticed that a person would dress like a clown and then target one of five schools, driving a white van from school to school. Police vigorously investigated the matter but did not find any evidence of a clown in a white van near the named schools.\r

2 - Gijonclown\r
Shortly after the clown sightings in France, residents of the city of Gijon in Spain witnessed their own clown sighting. Witnesses report seeing “Gijonclown” late at night, ing sinister. He has never been seen brandishing any weapons, nor have any crimes been attributed to him. He just seems to be a creepy clown that likes to take long strolls in the middle of the night – and he has even said so on social media. One of his post reads “Scared of clowns? But we are the most friendly, nice and sociable people youll ever meet. Youll find us at night”. Gijonclown has accumulated a following online and boasts an Instagram account with over 5,000 followers.\r

When it comes to weird people, Florida can usually be found at the top of the list, and this case is no different. Multiple clown sightings have been reported throughout Florida. In Indian River County, a woman walking her dog reported seeing a person in a clown costume come out from behind a tree. In Vero Lake Estates, a group of children were chased by someone in a clown mask after getting off their bus. The Pasco County School was placed on lockdown following a social media threat in which clowns threatened to start a school shooting. One of the threatening clowns was found to be a 12 year old boy, who was subsequently arrested. In Melbourne, two clowns ages 18 and 20 were arrested for chasing people while carrying an axe and baseball bat. Floridians became so nervous of clown attacks that many parents said they would be arming themselves while they went trick-or-treating with their kids. And for good reason because on Halloween night, a group of 20 people dressed in clown masks attacked two people checking their car. One man was stabbed and the other was assaulted with a hockey stick.
