Last week, just before the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday (and a day after I published a vlog asking if you should continue with your Model 3 reservation or consider a different car) Tesla officially opened up the Model 3 order process to non-Tesla employees.
For now at least, those lucky enough to be invited to configure their car are those who live within easy reach of Tesla's Fremont facility -- and those who want their car within the four weeks promised by Tesla will have to opt for a high-end Model 3 that will cost significantly more than the $35,000 headline price tag.
