'Manspreading' is when a person's legs are spread wide, covering multiple seats
An argument erupted on a New York subway yesterday with a man being accused of punching a woman in the face after she complained he was 'manspreading'.
Sam Saia, 37 said she had politely asked the man to move his legs, which had been encroaching on her space and forcing her to be crushed into train's wall.
Ms Saia said that the man turned violent, started to swear and eventually landed a punch on her mouth.
Video taken around 7:45 am on a New York N train service shows what happened after the incident.
After witnessing the incident, another subway passenger tries to remove the 'manspreader' from the train.
He is heard saying: 'Get the f*** off the train. Get off the train bro, you just f***ing hit a lady.'
