Malaysian planters are not absolved despite news that Indonesia had passed a new plantation bill, without the controversial retroactive clause to limit foreign ownership to a maximum 30 per cent from 95 per cent currently.
According to media reports, Indonesia's legislators had passed the plantation bill, which aims to maximize land usage and open up the country's plantation sector to smallholders.
