Florida State beat Southern Miss 42-13 in Wednesday's Independence Bowl to earn their 41st consecutive season with a winning record (7-6), the longest active streak in the nation. Quarterback James Blackman went 18-of-26 for 233 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions.
