Guingamp looked to be holding on after taking the lead at the Stade de la Mosson through a first-half penalty. Montpellier were able to peg back the Breton side thanks to the reliable Giovanni Sio, but were lucky not to lose the point when Jimmy Briand came agonisingly close with practically the last kick of the game.
