The latest trend that you might see hitting your favorite bar is a lot sparklier than you might have imagined. Glitter beer is taking over.
The Mermaid Tail beer from Seabright Brewery in Santa Cruz, California in 2016 may have been the first glitter beer on the market but it definitely wasn't the last. The addition of edible glitter to beer caught on quick.
Head brewer Carli Smith at the Bold Missy Brewery was inspired by classic Lisa Frank looks, and created the “Trapper Keeper” beer. The brew looks shimmery, but it’s got nothing on Australian brewery Two Birds Nest’s Stardust IPA, which includes a ton of edible glitter in tribute to the late David Bowie.
