Netflix won't be at Cannes this year.
Netflix has officially pulled out of the Cannes Film Festival because of a rule change surrounding distribution.
The new rule requires that all films have theatrical distribution, which inhibits Netflix, an online streaming service.
Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, said that he wants their films to be on the same playing ground as other filmmakers.
