On Saturday Reuters reported that French President Emmanuel Macron’s talk this week of a “new deal with Iran” may not, in fact, represent anything new nor a deal with Iran. Macron came to Washington in hopes of persuading President Donald Trump not to reimpose sanctions on Iran before a May 12 deadline and jeopardize the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
