Facebook’s Head of News Products announced they are ending the 'Trending News' section.
According to Alex Hardiman, users found that section of their product to be less and less useful over time.
But Facebook plans to replace it with a 'Breaking News' section that will include live-stream news coverage.
The revised section will focus on linking to articles from trustworthy and quality sources.
Trending News was introduced to Facebook as Trends API back in 2014.
