U.S. Economy Seeing Fastest Growth Since 2014 The second quarter of
the U.S. GDP rose by 4.1%. Third quarter growth reached 5.2%.
This is the fastest pace of
economic expansion since 2014. President Trump was also
elated by the GDP numbers. Gross domestic product, or GDP, is a measure of a country's economic output. GDP comprises personal consumption, business investments, government spending and the difference between exports and imports. The last administration to see an annual GDP growth above 3% was under President George W. Bush in 2005. The best annual GDP numbers during the Obama administration were 2.9% The Trump administration has
made pro-growth policies a priority by implementing measures
intended to strengthen
business, such as tax reform. The latest GDP reading
suggests that the tax reform
strategy is working.
