The British invasion kicks into gear this year, full of bands whose songs will probably be mistaken for being by The Beatles EXCEPT, this year marks the start of The Rolling Stones. Can they compete?...Well ,the Stones did last longer. Also note the number 1 song of the year only peaked at No. 2. The color scheme I used for the text there is unique to reflect the predicament. I can't really explain why on several occasions there is one song which is ranked lower then another song on the year-end despite peaking the former song peaking higher during its chart run then the latter song, it occurs several times. Overall longevity plays a part, but this is also occurring during a time where most songs are on the charts for only 15-20 weeks.
