The meeting comes after the first two days of the winter session ended without Parliament transacting any business at all.
The government is keen to resolve the crisis . Since it needs to pass important legislations including the food security bill, the Lokpal bill, the whistle-blowers bill and others relating to the banking and insurance sectors.
