Santosh Hegde has dropped a bombshell before his retirement. He's alleged that senior BJP leaders asked him to "spare" scam-tainted chief minister B. S. Yeddyurappa from the inquiry into mining irregularities in Bellary district. He has been maintaining that several "big fish" were involved in the mining racket for which the state exchequer suffered losses in crores.
