The inclusion of three RJD defectors among the 14 ministers, who have been newly inducted into the 12-day old Jitan Ram Manjhi Cabinet in Bihar on Monday, has given rise to a fresh controversy within the state JD(U).
The trio -- Ramlakhan Ram Raman, Samrat Chaudhary and Javed Iqbal Ansari -- had switched allegiance to the JD(U) along with 10 others, who, however, returned to the party fold.
All of them were recently nominated as Members of the Legislative Council (MLC) after they resigned from the RJD.
JD(U) spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar has resigned from his post to register his protest against the move to reward the turncoats. "The party has ignored committed workers and awarded turncoats, who recently joined the party," he said.
