The Telecom Regulatory Authority Amendment Bill will be placed in the Lok Sabha on Friday when the House reconvenes after the Budget.

The Bill has to be amended to allow the appointment of former TRAI Chairman Nripendra Misra as principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Before the Ordinance was promulgated, the TRAI Act prohibited its chairman and members from taking up any other job in the central or state governments after demitting office.

To make sure that there are enough numbers to pass the Bill, the Bharatiya Janata Party has ordered all its PMs to present in the House on Friday.

Congress, meanwhile, is strategising to oppose the Bill. Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjuna Kharge said, "We will discuss in our party meeting and decide."
