BJP Rajya Sabha MP Prabhat Jha on Tuesday made a bizarre statement on rising prices of tomatoes in the market.
Jha said rich people eat tomatoes and it is mostly consumed by people having red cheeks.
Price rise has become a key concern for the Narendra Modi government which has so far failed to tame the inflation. And such statements by Modi’s partymen are not helping the image projected by the BJP in its election campaign.
The retail prices of tomatoes have skyrocketed to Rs 60-80 per kg in the national capital.
