Study Links Scalding Hot Tea to
Increased Cancer Risk The report was published this week
by the American Cancer Society. The type of cancer the tea could cause is esophageal,
which kills over 400,000 people annually. Smoking and alcohol are the main causes, but now
too much hot liquid could also be a factor. According to the study,
tea becomes more dangerous at
140 degrees fahrenheit or higher. Drinking 700 milliliters a day or more
will also increase the risk. From 2004 to 2017, researchers
observed over 50,000 people. The study was conducted in Iran, where people
drink tea much hotter than in other
parts of the world. All of the subjects ranged
from 40 to 75 years old. Over the time period, 317 new cancer cases
were eventually discovered. American Cancer Society, via 'CNN'
