Measles Cases in the US Are Almost at Record Numbers So far in 2019, there are 626 confirmed reports of the disease. That is 41 less than the current worst year
since recording began - 667 cases in 2014. Due to the spread of anti-vaccine movements, it is now making a comeback. In 2018, there was 372 cases
of measles in the U.S. If trends continue, that number
could be tripled this year. In the past seven days,
over 70 cases of measles
have been reported. Nearly all of them were in New York in areas
where people do not get vaccinations. The issue has even caused
New York City to issue fines to
people who don't give their
children the required shots.
