Dems Announce 2 Articles
of Impeachment Against Trump.
The articles of impeachment
against President Donald Trump were
announced by House Judiciary Committee
Chairman Jerrold Nadler on Tuesday morning.
They focus on Trump's alleged
abuse of power and his alleged
obstruction of Congress regarding
its Ukraine investigation.
We must be clear: No one, not even the president, is above the law, Jerrold Nadler, House Judiciary Committee Chairman,
via 'The Washington Post'.
Democrats allege that Trump used his
office to pressure the President of Ukraine
to investigate business dealings of former
Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
Trump is accused of withholding
military aid from Ukraine as a
"quid pro quo" to further
pressure the Biden investigation.
Speaking to reporters,
House Intelligence Committee
Chairman Adam Schiff called
impeachment "a question of duty.".
Trump's campaign manager, Brad
Parscale, released a statement calling the
impeachment "political theater," saying "[democrats]
don't have a viable candidate for 2020 and they know it.".
The Judiciary Committee will
vote on the articles on Thursday.
The full House of Representatives
will likely cast votes next week
