World sensation. The Kon-tiki navigator, Thor Heyerdahl, built it from papyrus according to 5,000-year-old Egyptian tomb paintings; 15 meters in length and 4.80 in width has RA I, the name that the ancient Egyptians gave to the sun. Six men, including the Mexican professor Santiago Genoves, set out to cross the Atlantic on this barge to Central America. The Norwegian anthropologist intends to reinforce his theory that already 5,000 years ago there were North Africans who arrived on the shores of Mexico in papyrus boats, hence there is an undoubted connection between the two highly developed old cultures. In Safi, a Moroccan port city, RA I was baptized with goat's milk and then thrown into the water. There is no shortage of warnings from skeptics against traveling back in time, but Heyerdahl is optimistic. Last part of board, the RA I sails without incident and its crew members are well except for the occasional seasickness.
