AOC’s Streaming Debut Garnered
Twitch’s Third-Largest Audience Ever.
On Tuesday night, Representative
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez live-streamed
for the very first time on Twitch. .
Within an hour of beginning
her stream, Ocasio-Cortez
had attracted nearly 500,000 people.
She was joined by a number of well-known
streamers throughout the event, as well as
fellow Representative Ilhan Omar. .
According to Axios, the three-hour
event was Twitch’s third-largest audience
ever for a live Twitch stream.
AOC first mentioned playing 'Among Us'
the previous day on Twitter.
The event was an impromptu
get-out-the-vote effort aimed
at young Americans. .
Last week, Joe Biden’s campaign also
made moves toward attracting young voters by
creating an “island” in 'Animal Crossing.' .
As of Wednesday morning, AOC
has 575,000 followers on Twitch.
