This is step four where you are now painting the complementary colors in the foreground to the background. You want to keep in mind the texture of what you're painting. So, if it is fur you are painting, to have strokes with the brush to mimic the texture of fur. A side to side strokes is an option to apply the paint so that we can get the texture of the fur or hair. You want to start with the purple first as the shadow will add the blue next to the midtone.
