NASA is reporting that the Sun emitted a “significant” solar flare peaking at 11:35 a.m. EDT on October 28, 2021. Captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO)—which watches the Sun constantly—it came from a sunspot called AR2887.
