I remember visiting my grandmother, and the first thing she would do is open a bottle of 7up (the bottles were returnable at the store back then) and having a jar of bread and butter pickles on the shelf for when I wanted them. Those were, and still are my favorite type of pickles. It took me a long time to find the recipe for this one, since she has long past. Grandma Would be proud!
