Poll Shows , Biden's Approval Rating , Continues To Slip.
A new survey suggests that United States President
Joe Biden's public approval rating continues to edge lower
with just five weeks to go before the midterm elections.
Reuters reports that a two-day national poll
found that just 40% of Americans approve
of the Biden administration's performance.
That's down from a 41% approval rate the previous week.
In May and June, the president's
popularity sank as low as 36%. .
Reuters reports that the low approval rating
has stoked fears that the Democratic Party
will lose control of the House and the Senate.
Republicans have been favored to win a majority
in the chamber, which would give them veto
power against Joe Biden's legislative agenda.
Another Reuters poll found that Republican candidates' emphasis on border security and crime could offer an edge in the November 8 midterms.
The poll found that 40% of registered voters
said Republicans were better suited to address
immigration compared to 32% who favored Democrats.
Similarly, for solving the problem
of rising crime, 39% chose Republicans
compared to just 30% who chose Democrats.
Reuters reports that 30%
of registered voters said their
biggest concern was inflation.
Last month, Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy launched
a party-wide platform focused on lowering energy costs
and inflation while also curbing crime and immigration.
