What is coronary angiography?
Coronary angiography is a method of examining the coronary arteries.
A radiopaque agent is injected into each coronary artery after the catheter has been inserted into the aorta.
The examination is done on an empty stomach.
The duration of the procedure is 20-90 minutes.
Some patients may experience allergic reactions to the injected chemical.
This research method allows diagnosing coronary artery disorders (myocardial infarction, angina pectoris), recurrence of narrowing due to atherosclerosis,
assessing their severity and prescribing coronary bypass surgery (if necessary).
